Today marked Day 4 of the AJU Morgan Elumelu Foundation Media House Tour, and it took me to the Armed Forces Radio, 107.7 FM, Mogadishu Cantonment, Asokoro.

It was a great honour to be interviewed by a veteran radio personality and household name, Ilemi Okoka. The conversation was both insightful and deeply engaging.

During the interview, Ilemi delved into my upbringing, drawing thoughtful connections between my early life experiences and my passion for advocacy. She explored how those formative years influenced my commitment to gender equity and inspired the creation of Women for 35%.

She further examined what motivated me to establish the movement and why increasing women’s representation in leadership and governance remains critical to Nigeria’s development.

The discussion also focused on my new book, Power of Prejudice, where I explained its core message and unpacked the historical, cultural, and systemic factors—the etiology—responsible for feminine gender inequality in Nigeria. The aim was to help listeners understand how deeply rooted prejudice continues to shape opportunities for women and why intentional action is required to dismantle these barriers.

It was a meaningful engagement, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share these conversations with the Armed Forces Radio audience as the media tour continues.
