Our Slum Visitations and market Outreaches.
As a way of implementing our projects using the design thinking model, The CEO/Founder and other team members of AMEF occasionally visit the slums and the local markets in the country to hear directly from the users of our projects. This enables us to gain an empathetic understanding of the problem we’re trying to solve, typically through user research. We then analyze our observations and synthesize them to define the core problems. Through these actions, we were able identify and develop innovative solutions to these problems. Thus far, we have visited about 20 slums and 10 local markets in Nigeria and the experience has been amazing, as we get to discover the hidden talents in most of these less privileged individuals. Some of them have been given opportunities to meet with possible sponsors and investors to pitch their ideas. We have also met some instant needs for some such as school fees and critical health challenges.
