The Women For 35% of the AJU MORGAN ELUMELU FOUNDATION (AMEF) stood together in solidarity with Hon. Mrs. Alice Tangi Allen, the elected Chairman of Sagbama LGA, Bayelsa State.
We did not gather for violence.
We gathered for justice.
We gathered for democracy.
We gathered to defend the sanctity of the people’s mandate.
Nigeria is a signatory to the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, a global commitment to advancing women’s participation in leadership and decision-making.
So today, we asked: What happens when a woman finally wins, and her mandate is threatened?
We say: WE STAND WITH HER.
Hon. Alice Tangi Allen represents more than herself. Her story represents every Nigerian woman who has dared to enter politics, every woman fighting for a seat at the table, and every young girl who deserves to believe that leadership is also her right.
Our message remains clear:
Respect the woman.
Respect the vote.
Respect the mandate.
Respect the Constitution.
Women for 35% will continue to speak for women’s meaningful participation in leadership and stand against any form of political intimidation that undermines women’s voices.
This is bigger than Alice.
This is about the Nigeria we want to build.
